"After a full month on SmartSox, my 28 year old gelding (Cushings, with long-time mysterious lameness) is convincingly more comfortable. I've been able to remove all Devil's Claw from his diet and he remains a sound, happy boy!
I'll be eager to try the pelleted version. GOOD JOB, SmartPak!

"My horse is very picky about texture and he refused to eat the amount recommended on the container. So, I will gradually introduce it at smaller amounts to see if he will eat it. I am sure it will help him, but have to get him to eat it first!"

"I purchased this for my mare that has chronic hoof problems/navicular and history of laminitis. She did not like the taste at first, but the additon of some Kayo syrup did the trick. She eats every bit of it now. After just two weeks, it is too early to tell if it will be helpful. I am going to continue the supplement for at least 2 months to see if there are positive results"

"My 28 year old gelding has been on this for only two weeks (winter - with frozen, rutted ground), but his feet do seem to be more comfortable than they were before. He doesn't object to the taste, however if his feed wasn't wet, I doubt he'd clean up the sifted-out powder.

I'm reserving final judgment until I've had a chance to ride him in normal conditions.

"I am having a hard time getting her to eat this product. I put it in the bottom of her feed, then added a bit of molasses on top. She pushes it around, eats her hay then finally finishes her pellets. Any way this can be incorporated into a pellet? She doesn't seem to have problems with her other smart-paks. The packets seemed to be a bit harder to open this time. The tops zipped right off the ones before this batch."

"I recently started my mare on this product as she
has an unknown lameness problem that is controlled with bute and or isoxuprine and doesn't always have it, all the diagnostic tests have not come up with a clear answer,,I will say this mare is not at all a picky eater, but she has had trouble with the palatability of this product,, I finally found that if I mix it with applesauce she will take it,
unfortunately, she has just came up with a hoof
absess, so I'm not sure if this is helping, I will give
it a month, and then review again, If there is
any way to make this "flavored" it would certainly help!! I talked to our vet about this product, she
then ordered the product for her show gelding and feels like it is working for him

"I haven't really used this product long enough to notice if it's helping yet. I think it is, but my horse is only minimally lame, diagnosed with navicular changes, so I think it will take more time to know fully the extent of the effectiveness of Smart Sox. My only negative would be its palatability. I mix some corn oil in, and that helps."

"I started using this product on my horse about 4 months ago. He had front end soreness that we could just not figure out. He would be sound then go lame and it definitely stemmed from his front feet. It was recommended I put him on Isox long term. Since I am not a huge fan of medicating all the time I gave the SmartSox a try. So far the results have been really good. Much fewer lame days and he hoof tests great. I have to agree with some of the other posts that at first my horse did not eat all of his supplement. I think that since he was already getting a lot of other powered supplements adding another made his dinner just a bit too much. I now split his supplements AM and PM and have no problems with him eating it."

"I've been giving this to my foot-sore TB for about a month now and he has been doing quite well. It is difficult to tell the specific impact of the SmartSox, though, because we also doubled his dose of Farrier's Formula. I am going to keep with it for a while, hoping to keep him feeling good.

The one change I would make would be to offer this in a pelleted form - my horse is NOT a picky eater, but he tries to avoid the powder & I sometimes find it at the bottom of his feed bin. PLEASE make this in pellets so that I can be sure he is eating it all. :)

"I tried this for 3 months, hoping it would help my mare with sore feet. No such luck. I saw no changes, and at the price I couldn't afford to try another month.
Also, my horse isn't a picky eater, but she did have issues with this powder.

"This product seemed to make a difference in my mare's hooves right away. She was ouchy in front even with shoes. Smart Sox hardened her feet and gave them a clean, healthy look. The product is, however, a little expensive. Would definitely be worth the money if your horse continually has sore soles."

"My horse has been battling tender feet on and off for some time. After a bout of laminitis, due to a persimmon grove, we researched and found this product. After a couple of months, I noticed a dramatic improvement. My Natural Hoofcare Practitioner has seen a marked improvement in growth and quality of hoof.

The Smartpak staff was wonderful and knowledgeable. Customer service was worth an A+! Thanks.

"WOW!! What can I say? This product is incredible!
My three year old QH Charlie has been recovering from a severe compression injury to the hoof for the last 14 months. He has endured two large abscesses that turned into vertical cracks and a large farrier bill. Charlie's hoof is now grown out and looks normal, but he was still coming up lame. Our Vet told us his hoof soreness could be permanent! That is when I decided to try "SMART SOX". After 20 days on this product Charlie is totally sound with no signes of hoof soreness!! Thank you Smart Pack for developing this product! Charlie and I will be showing this summer thanks to SMART SOX!!!!
